This barrier is over now as the first officially adopted monograph using UPLC instrument and UPLC Column is out. The European Pharmacopoeia didn't want to favour one supplier from another so they had to mention "Use instrument adapted to high column back-pressure (above 400 bar)" to stay neutral. The column used is an ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 2,1x50mm 1,8um!

Indeed, the Nevirapine Hemihydrate (Monograph # 2479 from European Pharmacopeia) has been published in PharmEuropa 23.2 (April 2011) page 350-351 and will be published officially in the European Pharmacopeia Edition Supplement 7.6 on July 1st 2012.
