Mayor Talib Bensouda of KMC visited his roots in Niani Tubakuta, where his grandmother emotionally reflected on the family’s proud heritage — and the lineage that has shaped generations.

In the video, the elderly woman recalls how Talib’s grandfather, Seedy Bensouda, earned his title as Alkalo of kuntaur through a lineage connected to Nanoding Jawara — sister of former President Sir Dawda Jawara.

She also urged the public to remain calm, noting that whatever God has destined for a person, no one has the power to prevent.

Mayor Bensouda, who also leads the Unite Movement, used the occasion to meet with family elders and formally announce his political intentions.
