Minister Feetham met with young people this morning to discuss preparations for the next Ministerial youth event.

The meeting provided an opportunity to gather valuable input and ensure that young voices help shape the agenda and priorities moving forward.

Speaker Spotlight: Sam Buxton

(Banking, fintech, entrepreneurship and investment)

Sam Buxton will bring a practical perspective on finance, entrepreneurship and how innovation is developing in a regulated world.

For young people 16+ and under 30 interested in fintech, business, investment and digital finance, this is a chance to hear directly from someone with experience across both traditional finance and emerging financial technology.

The aim of this event is not just inspiration, it is exposure to real thinking, real careers and what the journey looks like behind the headlines.

Balancing public service and top-level football, Lee’s story is about more than success moments. It is about routine, responsibility, loyalty and hard work over many years.

This session speaks directly to one of the key themes of the event: Discipline to Delivery, how consistency builds outcomes in sport, work and life.

As part of Future Skills: AI, Tech and Entrepreneurship for young people 16+ and under 30, Alex Capurro will be sharing a practical talk on building through experimentation, resilience and doing the work before everything feels “ready.”

His journey is a strong example of what this event is about: not a perfect path, but a real one. From curiosity and creativity in Gibraltar to building technology and scaling globally, Alex brings a grounded perspective on what it actually takes to create something meaningful.

This is the kind of session young people need more of, honest insight, real experience and practical takeaways.

This session is for young people aged 16+ and under 30 and is about real careers, real people and real next steps.

Not everyone follows the same route and not every path is academic. This event is designed to create a practical, welcoming space to hear from people building careers in business, tech, finance, sport, media and entrepreneurship and to ask questions directly.

Connect Hub | Ministry of Justice, Trade and Industry | Delivered with Startup Grind Gibraltar

This event is for young people 16+ and under 30 and brings together local speakers, career mentors and Youth Ambassadors to give practical exposure to careers, skills and opportunities across AI, technology, entrepreneurship, finance, media, gaming and sport.

The focus is simple:
1. Real careers
2. Real people
3. Real next steps

Attendees will hear from speakers, connect one-to-one with career mentors during the session, and join a Youth Ambassadors panel featuring young people already building momentum in Gibraltar.

We are also creating a space that welcomes both academic and non-academic pathways, with practical conversations about skills, discipline, direction and opportunity.
