JUNE 2026: VISION, GOALS & FOCUS

"RUN WITH PURPOSE"

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” (1Cor.9:24)

Beloved, life is a race. Everyone is running. But the question is: Are we running with purpose, or just running because others are running?

THE TALE OF 2 RUNNERS
In 2 Samuel 18, we meet two runners: Ahimaz and Cushai.
Ahimaz was fast, gifted, and eager. He outran Cushai and reached King David first. But when the king asked for news, Ahimaz had nothing to say. He ran for recognition, not with a message.

Cushai was slower, but he carried a clear mandate. He arrived and delivered exactly what the king needed to hear. He ran for mission, not for applause.

Paul adds clarity in 1 Corinthians 9:23-27. He says, “I therefore so run, not as uncertainly… I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection.” Paul refused to waste energy on unprofitable battles. He ran with discipline, focus, and eternal vision.

PURPOSE
Purpose is your divine assignment. Genesis 1:26–31, shows God created us to reflect His image, steward creation, and glorify Him. True purpose is:
1. ROOTED IN GOD’S WORD – not just ambition or imitation.
2. BENEFICIAL TO GOD’S KINGDOM AND PEOPLE – it blesses others.
3. CENTERED ON LOVE, JOY, AND PEACE – God’s vision always carries His nature.
4. DRIVEN BY PASSION – it compels you to act.

THE MANDATE: WHAT DOES GOD WANT ME TO DO?
Before you run, hear heaven. Jesus said, _“My food is to do the will of Him that sent me” John 4:34_. Your first assignment is to know your assignment. Ask: “Lord, what have You sent me to do in this season?” Don’t assume. Don’t copy. Get your mandate from God’s Word and presence.

BUT WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW YET? DO GOOD
Ephesians 2:10, says, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.” And Acts 10:38_ tells us, “Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power, who went about doing good.”

So even if you don’t know your specific assignment on earth, be certain of this universal one: _do good always and be a blessing_. Feed, help, encourage, heal, give. Purpose is often revealed while you are in motion doing good. Don’t sit idle waiting for a perfect blueprint. Start with good works.

AHIMAZ VS. CUSHAI VS. PAUL
- AHIMAZ: Fast, gifted, but purposeless. Speed without a message.
- CUSHAI: Slower, but purposeful and faithful. He delivered.
- PAUL: Disciplined, focused, running for the _incorruptible crown_, not temporary fame.

The world runs for corruptible crowns — career, wealth, likes. We run for an incorruptible crown — eternal reward and God’s “Well done.”

VISION CHECK FOR JUNE
As we walk in VISION, GOALS & FOCUS this month, ask yourself:
1. VISION: What message has God given me to carry? What is my mandate?
2. GOALS: What crown am I running for — earthly applause or eternal reward?
3. FOCUS: Am I running with clarity, or just copying others? And am I doing good daily?

DON’T RUN THE DAY AIMLESSLY
Don’t just wake up and run the day. Plan it. Proverbs 16:3 – “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.” Before the day runs you, run it with God. Seek Him for your daily mandate, then write your plan. Even Jesus withdrew early to get the Father’s agenda - Mark 1:35.
Waiting without a plan is still aimless running. Purpose is daily. If you fail to plan your day, you plan to drift like Ahimaz — busy but without a message.

Speed is not enough. Recognition is not enough. Purpose is what matters.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that life is a race. Deliver me from aimless running like Ahimaz. Imprint Your vision and mandate on my heart. Give me Cushai’s faithfulness to carry Your message, and Paul’s discipline to run with certainty. If I am unsure of my specific assignment, anoint me like Jesus to go about doing good. Teach me to plan my day with You, so I don’t drift. This June, align my goals and focus with Your will. Help me run with purpose so I may obtain the incorruptible crown. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TODAY’S DECLARATION
I will not run uncertainly. I carry a divine mandate. Even when I’m seeking clarity, I am created to do good. I plan my day with God. I run with purpose for an eternal prize.

WALK-WORD - ACTION POINT
1. Spend 10 minutes with God before the day starts. Ask: “Lord, what is my mandate for today?” Write down 3 priorities.
2. Do one good deed today on purpose. Be a blessing to someone before sunset.
