EduHub Ghana
Today, on the International Day of Education, I am deeply inspired by theme for this year: “The Power of Youth in Co-Creating Education.” This theme strongly resonates with my personal journey and the mission behind Education Hub Ghana.
Education Hub Ghana was founded as a youth-led organization, born out of passion and the urgent need to drive change in the attainment of quality education (SDG 4) especially for children in marginalized communities. Our work is grounded in the belief that no child should be left behind, and that sustainable education reform must include the voices of young people.
During my visit to the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 23rd January, I witnessed first-hand how eager, informed, and passionate young people are to be heard. It reaffirmed my belief that achieving the UN Agenda 2030 on SDG 4becomes far more attainable when youth are actively involved through mentorship, partnerships, collaboration, and having a seat at the table where policies that affect them are shaped.
To young people passionate about SDG 4 and education reform: do not be afraid to speak up or take initiative. As leaders such as Joshua Opey, Chairperson of the Commonwealth Youth Council, and others have reminded us, change begins when youth boldly claim their space and lead with purpose.
Education thrives when youth co-create it.
