This Is The Day The Lord Has Made: Acknowledge Him
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
— Psalm 118:24
Every new day is a gift from God and an opportunity to walk in His purpose, wisdom, and direction. Many people begin their day with worry, pressure, personal plans, and distractions, yet forget to acknowledge the One who gave them the day.
The Psalmist did not simply say, “This is my day.” He said, “This is the day the Lord has made.” That means the day belongs first to God before it belongs to us. A wise person understands that life becomes meaningful when God is recognized and honored in every decision, plan, and activity.
To acknowledge God means to involve Him, seek His direction, trust His wisdom, and live with the awareness of His presence. Many struggles in life come because people make decisions without God, pursue goals without prayer, and depend on their own understanding instead of God’s wisdom.
When you acknowledge God daily, your heart becomes peaceful because you recognize that your life is in His hands. You stop depending only on human strength and begin to trust His guidance. The day may come with challenges, but when God is acknowledged, you can walk through it with confidence and wisdom.
Do not rush into your day without prayer, gratitude, and dependence upon God. Before speaking, planning, traveling, working, or making decisions, acknowledge Him. A day committed to God is a day positioned for wisdom, strength, and direction.
May God help us to honor Him daily, trust Him completely, and walk wisely in every oppChrist Disciples Church - AgbozumeiChrist Disciples Church - Ehi-HormepChrist Disciples Church - Suipeisciples Church - Suipe
Prayer involves real effort (spiritual labor)
Scripture portrays prayer as intentional, disciplined engagement, not something passive.
Colossians 4:12 – “…always labouring fervently for you in prayers…”
Luke 22:44 – Jesus prayed “more earnestly” in agony
Romans 15:30 – “…strive together with me in your prayers…”
Words like labouring and striving clearly show effort, intensity, and commitment.
God is NOT a Man! Man is Not God! Don’t worry, God is merciful and gracious! He will help you marvellously.
