TOGBE GETS YALE APPOINTMENT

Yale School of Management (SOM), the Graduate business school of Yale University, has appointed Togbe Afede XIV as Chair of its Council of Global Advisors, effective February 16, 2026.

THE COUNCIL OF GLOBAL ADVISORS
The Yale SOM Council of Global Advisors is comprised of global leaders who advise the Dean and the school’s senior leadership on strategies to expand the brand and reach of the school internationally. Members of the Council play an active role in shaping discussions, contributing expertise, and supporting key school initiatives.

MEMBERSHIP
Council members include outstanding alumni and non-alumni from a diverse set of countries and professional backgrounds.

Members are required to participate actively by attending meetings, engaging with fellow advisors, and contributing expertise to SOM initiatives.

APPOINTMENT, ROLE AND TERM AS CHAIR
Togbe’s appointment is based on his “admirable leadership, experience, life and career”.

As Chair, he will work with a distinguished group of leaders who advise the school’s senior leadership in advancing SOM’s core aspirations. He will help shape the Council’s priorities, work closely with Dean Kerwin Charles and other SOM leadership, guide member engagement, and oversee the Council’s overall direction.

Furthermore, Togbe’s insight will be helpful in strengthening student recruitment across regions, elevating global awareness of Yale SOM’s mission and impact, and deepening partnerships with organizations around the world.

He has a three-year term with the possibility for renewal, and will also serve as an ex-officio member of the SOM Board of Advisors.

The Asogli State, under the distinguished leadership of Togbe Afede XIV, together with Chiefs, Queen Mothers, Elders, and citizens, solemnly attended the final funeral rites of the late Togbe Kwaku Ayim IV, Paramount Chief of Ziavi.

The presence of the Asogli delegation symbolized deep respect, solidarity, and a shared traditional heritage. The late Togbe Ayim IV was honored as a revered ruler whose life was marked by discipline, dignity, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of his people and to national development. His leadership and selfless service were celebrated as a testament to integrity, unity, and visionary stewardship.

In his remarks, Togbe Afede XIV emphasized that the legacy of such a noble leader must not only be remembered but preserved through sustained peace, unity, and collective advancement. The Asogli State encouraged the people of Ziavi and the Ziavi Traditional Area to remain united and steadfast, drawing strength from their customs and common purpose, as unity remains the bedrock of lasting development and communal harmony.

The State further extended its goodwill and support to his successor, urging continued dedication to the principles and exemplary path established by the late Togbe Ayim IV, and reaffirming confidence in the enduring strength of the Ziavi stool.

As a mark of honor and remembrance, Togbe Afede XIV signed the book of condolence, reaffirming the enduring bond between Asogli and Ziavi, and paying tribute to a life devoted to service, discipline, and traditional excellence.

May the soul of the late Togbe Kwaku Ayim IV rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations.

Togbe Afede XIV led a team of Italian hydropower experts to Hohoe as part of ongoing efforts to revive a mini hydropower and water-supply project for the area.

He was joined by the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu; the Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Prosper Kumi; chiefs from the Hohoe traditional areas; and technical officers from the Ghana Water Company Limited. The team visited the Hohoe headworks, intake points, dam site, and other operational facilities to give the experts a comprehensive understanding of the project landscape.

The visit enabled the Italian delegation to assess the basin conditions, topography, and water levels, all of which will inform the next stage of their technical evaluation.

Togbe Afede highlighted the project's importance, noting its potential to enhance water supply, support renewable energy generation, boost tourism, and create practical learning opportunities for young people interested in hydropower and engineering.

The experts are expected to return to continue their analysis as collaborative efforts advance toward delivering this transformative project for Hohoe and the Volta Region.
