We are thrilled to introduce Sharon Andrews as the newest member of the Friends of Adanu Board.

Sharon's connection to Adanu is not new. It began with a visit in 2018, when she witnessed firsthand the powerful collaboration between communities across two countries, and saw the tangible difference that collective support was making in building schools, libraries, and computer labs for those who need them most.

That experience never left her. And now, she is channeling that passion into leadership.

The road to Mafi Adafe was an exciting and memorable experience for the Paxton family volunteers. Mafi Adafe is a small farming community in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region with a population of about 500 inhabitants. The community primarily engages in maize, peanut, and cassava cultivation, as well as gari processing.

Despite the community’s efforts to improvise, educational infrastructure remain a significant challenge.

Meanwhile the Paxton family volunteers during their ten-day stay supported the community by building a washroom for the school children thereby inspiring and encouraging their efforts in matters of education.

They also immersed themselves in various cultural activities including cassava harvesting and gari processing, firewood collection, family household chores, and fun games.

The Paxton family expressed their profound joy for the opportunity to embark on this journey of service, self-rediscovery and impact.

We're excited to partner with True Future Foundation in the Plant a Tree, Grow a Future Project. Together, we've planted over 2000 nursed trees, including Afram, Cedrela, and oil palm, in five community schools in Ho West District.

A big thank you to the Volta Regional Directorate of Forestry Commission Ghana, our community leaders, and partners for your amazing support. Tree planting is crucial for our environment and future generations.
