*NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM Empowers Over 100 Artisans at Mamfe with Tools and Machinery*

Yesterday marked a historic and transformative moment at Mamfe in the Akuapem North Municipality, as the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) organized a remarkable ceremony to equip master craftsmen and apprentices with modern machinery and essential tools to enhance their training and productivity.

The colorful event brought together distinguished dignitaries and stakeholders, including:
• Hon. John Evans Kumodzi, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE)
• Osaberema Nana Ansah Sasraku IV, Mamfehene
• Hon. Fohad Agbeyandzi, Deputy Coordinator, National Apprenticeship Program
• The Eastern Regional Director, NAP
• The Presiding Member, Akuapem North Municipal Assembly
• The Municipal NYA Representative
• The Municipal Director, YEA
• Hon. Ahmed Agbeyandzi, and other notable personalities

In total, over 100 beneficiaries—comprising skilled artisans and apprentices received state of the art equipment to advance their vocational training and expand their businesses.

Beneficiaries could not hide their excitement describing the initiative as unprecedented in the history of the municipality. Many expressed heartfelt gratitude noting that this was the first time such a comprehensive support package had been extended to artisans in the area.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries encouraged beneficiaries to take their craft seriously, utilize the equipment responsibly and remain committed to excellence. They emphasized that the tools provided are not just instruments for work but stepping stones toward economic independence, job creation and community development.

The ceremony also highlighted the broader vision of the National Apprenticeship Program. With the second phase set to roll out this year, over 100,000 young people across the country will be enrolled and resourced further demonstrating government’s commitment to skills development and youth empowerment.

This initiative stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between traditional authorities, government institutions and development partners in building a skilled and self-reliant generation.
