Today's hint is quite basic. A major contributor of slow computer performance are viruses, spyware or malware ( malicious software). Infact the most obvious culprit is a virus. Scan your system regularly with a good spy-catching program such as Lavasoft's Ad-Aware or Patrick M. Kolla's Spybot Search & Destroy. They're free,even though u may need to update them. so why not download and use both of them? Unlike antivirus packages, you can actually combine the use of anti-malware packages. infact, nowadays some good antivirus packages come complete with anti malware n spyware features. Next, update your antivirus definitions and run a full virus scan. Set your antivirus program to check for updates and do a full scan automatically at least once a week. Updates are very important. Apart from a source of finance for the antivirus companies (lol), it allows ur antivirus engine to be updated with the definitions of the new viruses out there. Isnt it soo annoying when you have an antivirus package and u scan, knowing fully that theres a virus, yet your software package comes up short! Please keep on updating. at least twice a month for non avid users but for daily internet users, i would suggest weekly.
