YouTube Settles Trump Lawsuit for $24.5 Million

Alphabet-owned YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed by former U.S. President Donald Trump over the suspension of his account following the January 2021 Capitol riots. The settlement, disclosed in a court filing on Monday, makes Google the last of the three major tech companies to resolve Trump’s lawsuits, which he filed in July 2021 accusing them of unlawfully silencing conservative voices.
