LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

John Ako has been appointed by Heath Goldfields Limited as Project Manager. This critical role has been strategically established to lead the rehabilitation and development of the sulphide treatment plant at the Bogoso-Prestea Mine.

The sulphide treatment plant forms a central pillar of Heath Goldfields’ long-term strategic vision. Its development will unlock significant sulphide mineral resources, extend the operational life of the mine, and position Bogoso-Prestea as a modern, efficient, and sustainable mining operation. This initiative represents a cornerstone in our structured plan to fully restore the mine and unlock its full technical and economic potential for the benefit of our stakeholders, host communities, and Ghana.

Prior to joining Heath Goldfields Limited, John served as Project Manager at Asante Gold Corporation, where he successfully led complex capital projects, including the development and ex*****on of a sulphide recovery initiative. His experience has equipped him with deep technical, operational, and governance expertise essential for delivering sulphide processing infrastructure within an active mining environment.

He has also held roles with Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd. and Gold Fields Ghana, further strengthening his knowledge of Ghana’s mining landscape and operational frameworks.

John brings extensive experience in mining capital project delivery, process plant development, and large-scale infrastructure ex*****on. His expertise spans project governance, risk management, contractor coordination, and disciplined ex*****on competencies that uniquely position him to lead this transformational project.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP®), globally recognised credentials that underscore his commitment to excellence in project delivery.

John’s appointment reflects Heath Goldfields’ deliberate investment in world-class Ghanaian leadership to drive its most strategic initiatives.
