President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled a powerful new Presidential Advisory Group on the Economy (PAGE), naming renowned private sector leaders Sir Samuel Esson Jonah, Mr. Ishmael Yamson and veteran economist Mr. Kwame Pianim as key members of the high-level body tasked with steering Ghana’s economic recovery and long-term growth.

In a statement issued by the Presidency on Thursday, January 15, 2026, the government said the formation of PAGE underscores President Mahama’s resolve to draw on Ghana’s finest economic minds to restore macroeconomic stability, strengthen fiscal discipline and accelerate inclusive, job-rich growth under the administration’s 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme.

Sir Sam Jonah, one of Ghana’s most respected industrialists, Ishmael Yamson, a leading private sector voice , and Kwame Pianim, an influential economist and private sector advocate, are expected to play pivotal roles in shaping policy direction, investment strategies and reforms to boost competitiveness and productivity.
