“Suspend Lamine Yamal for Waving the Palestinian Flag?” — Spanish PM’s Powerful Response Goes Viral

After reportedly coming under pressure from a pro-Israel lobby, the president of the football federation allegedly sent a letter to the Spanish Prime Minister requesting the suspension of young star for waving the Palestinian flag during celebrations.

Prime Minister responded:

"Today, we received a letter asking for the suspension of Lamine Yamal because he waved the Palestinian flag during Barcelona’s celebrations, and I think that is ridiculous.

You want me to suspend a player because he waved the Palestinian flag?! I believe FIFA should instead consider banning you from football because of what you are doing.

Lamine Yamal will be honored, and from today, that flag will become an icon of celebrations in the streets of Spain.”
