We’re helping Islanders aged 65+ stay independent and connected by funding the new REACT programme in Guernsey.

With a Foundation grant, The Health Improvement Commission for Guernsey and Alderney LBG has trained local instructors to lead tailored, group classes on strength, balance, mobility and health.

The next REACT cohort starts in 2026 and is free of charge for those experiencing early mobility challenges.

Our community survey revealed that 4% of Islanders cannot afford a fridge – an essential household item that most of us take for granted.

Our recent community survey asked respondents what they’d change about living in Guernsey.

A common response was, “Not having to worry about the expense of going to the doctor.”

30% of respondents told us that cost has prevented or delayed them from seeing their GP.
