Richard Kern is an American avant-guarde filmmaker, photographer and writer, well-known for his work in the transgressive art movement. Emerging in the New York underground scene of the 1980s, Kern became a prominent figure due to his provocative and often controversial films. He worked with Lydia Lunch (Teenage Jesus & the Jerks), David Wojnarowicz (q***r artist), Sonic Youth, Henry Rollins (Black Flag), Nick Zedd (another Transgression movement filmmaker), Lung Leg (actress on our poster), Marilyn Minter (photograph). Richard's works are full of erotic deviations, nihilistic views, anti-establishment sentiments, subculture's portraits, dark humor and shock means of expression.
