Menopause Awareness β Let's Start the Conversation
Menopause is a natural stage of life, yet for many women it can have a significant impact on their physical health, mental wellbeing and working life.
From hot flushes and brain fog to anxiety, sleep disturbances and joint pain, everyone's experience is different, and no one should feel they have to suffer in silence.
By raising awareness, challenging stigma and encouraging open conversations, we can create workplaces and communities where women feel understood, supported and empowered.
Whether you're experiencing menopause yourself, supporting a colleague, friend or loved one, or you're an employer wanting to build a more inclusive workplace, understanding makes all the difference.
π You are not alone, and support is available.

π Alcohol Awareness Week π
Alcohol Awareness Week provides an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with alcohol and the impact it can have on our physical health, mental wellbeing, relationships, and daily lives.
For some people, alcohol is part of social occasions and celebrations. For others, it can become a way of coping with stress, anxiety, loneliness, or difficult emotions.
This week isn't about judgement or labels. It's about raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and helping people make informed choices about their health and wellbeing.
Taking time to ask yourself a few simple questions can be a positive first step:
π How does alcohol make me feel?
π Does it affect my sleep, mood, or energy levels?
π Am I drinking out of habit or to cope with stress?
π Would I benefit from making small changes?
If you're concerned about your own drinking or supporting someone else, help is available.

Plastic Free July is a global movement encouraging people, workplaces, and communities to reduce their reliance on single-use plastics and make more sustainable choices.
At Altriss ASC Training, we recognise that small changes can make a big difference. By making simple adjustments in our workplaces and daily routines, we can all play a part in protecting our environment and supporting positive climate action.
Here are some easy ways to get involved this month:
β»οΈ Bring a reusable water bottle instead of buying bottled drinks
β Use a reusable coffee cup or travel mug
π₯ͺ Swap cling film and disposable food bags for reusable containers
ποΈ Choose refillable pens and office supplies where possible
ποΈ Keep a reusable shopping bag with you for unexpected purchases
π¨οΈ Reduce printing and opt for digital documents when appropriate
π° Encourage the use of water refill stations in the workplace
π΄ Choose reusable plates, cups and cutlery for meetings and events
π± Support suppliers and businesses that are committed to reducing plastic waste
Remember, sustainability isn't about being perfectβit's about making conscious choices that collectively create a positive impact.
What simple swap could you make this month?

π World Fibroid Day π
Today, on World Fibroid Day, we are helping to raise awareness of uterine fibroids and the impact they can have on the lives of millions of women worldwide.
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the uterus. While many women experience no symptoms, others may face challenges such as:
π Heavy or painful periods
π Pelvic pain or pressure
π Fatigue caused by anaemia
π Frequent urination
π Fertility and pregnancy complications
Despite being incredibly common, fibroids are often misunderstood, underdiagnosed, or dismissed. Raising awareness helps to encourage earlier conversations, timely diagnosis, and access to the right support.
If you're experiencing symptoms that are affecting your daily life, please know that you are not alone and support is available.
