The minority Plaid Welsh Government's Supplementary Budget did not pass yesterday.
The message from Labour MSs to Plaid Cymru was this "when you bring back a Supplementary Budget that actually starts to meet the asks of pupils and teachers, we'll be here waiting, ready to vote for it."
Here's what councils are asking for as minimum: £100 million for each of the next 2 years. Plaid offered £40 million. Labour asked for the £100 million.
The 2 unions representing headteachers in Wales, NAHT and ASCL are now in dispute with Welsh Government over ALN funding and teachers' pay.
All 22 Local Authorities in Wales have written to the Welsh Government asking for the UK Government consequentials to be spent on ALN.
Councils, schools, unions and many others are asking for this funding. This is about the funding that our schools, children and young people with ALN deserve.
