Tomorrow is the day – the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge starts!
Read to the Beat is here! Delivered by The Reading Agency in partnership with public libraries and powered by Universal Music Group UK, this year's challenge is all about the wonderful connection between stories and songs, and it all begins tomorrow at your local library!
Completely free for all children aged 4–11, the challenge invites children to read 6 books over the summer, earning rewards along the way and receiving an official certificate when they complete the challenge.
Libraries across the area have a fantastic programme of events and creative activities running all summer long, giving children even more ways to get involved, stay curious and make the most of their holidays.
To start the challenge, visit your local library from 4 July! For more information visit: https://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/council-services/libraries/read-and-discover/summer-reading-challenge
