RGS Worcester made a strong showing at Bridgnorth Regatta, with a fantastic turnout of rowers from Year Nine through to Year Thirteen competing across a range of events.
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” perfectly summed up a long and challenging day, with significant delays meaning crews spent extended periods on the water. Despite this, our rowers demonstrated real grit, determination and resilience throughout.
There were some outstanding performances to celebrate. The J18 boys’ coxed four of Sihan, Oliver, Cooper and Zac, coxed by Sophie, secured an impressive victory over Royal Shrewsbury School. Ollie and Cooper then went on to win again in the J18 double.
Further success came from the J14 coxed quad B crew of George, Rory, Sean and Will, coxed by James, who raced strongly through multiple rounds to take the win. Billie and Matti also delivered excellent performances in their single sculls, with Matti finishing the day with a superb victory.
It was a demanding day for all involved, but the perseverance, teamwork and competitive spirit shown by every RGS rower were truly commendable. Well done to everyone who represented the School so brilliantly!
