My favourite thing about washing the bedding is that despite doing it up BEFORE sticking it in the dryer, it ALWAYS comes out looking like a kid that's been playing out with a bunch of friends it's collected along the way.

Honestly, I put ONE duvet cover in.

What comes out looks like it's spent 3 hours at a birthday party, made 17 new friends, joined a gang and brought everyone home with it.

Then it just sits there staring at you.

Not moving.

Not helping.

Just giving off strong...

"What you gonna do now then, bitch?" vibes.

And the worst part is it all folds inwards on itself so it actually looks like a giant fu**in ar****le.

A giant.

Fu**in.

Ar****le.

There is NO WAY IN.

NONE.

I don't care what anyone says.

People online are like, "Oh just reach inside and flip it through."

Reach inside WHERE, Sharon?!

WHERE IS THE INSIDE?!

I'm not there for 5 minutes trying to find the entrance.

I'm there so long I've entered a different time zone.

The kids have grown up and moved out.

I've aged visibly.

My tea's gone cold.

I've developed trust issues.

Meanwhile I'm elbow deep in this cotton labyrinth, sweating profusely from my eyeballs, body temperature peaking, looking like I've just completed SAS selection.

The duvet cover has somehow folded itself into a shape that defies both physics and several international laws.

I KNOW the duvet gods are laughing.

They're sat up there watching me like it's pay per view entertainment.

"Look at her. She's found another corner."

"No she hasn't."

"Give her a minute. She's about to turn the whole thing inside out again."

By this point I'm questioning just throwing it and whatever is inside straight in the bin.

Pillowcases?

Gone.

Fitted sheet?

Gone.

Entire bedding set?

Gone.

Me?

Potentially gone.

Fresh start.

New identity.

Witness protection.

Then by the grace of God, after enough swearing to summon a small demon, it suddenly unravels.

Like it was never a problem.

Like I'M the unreasonable one.

No duvets ended up harmed.

No household items were launched through a window.

No nervous breakdowns were officially recorded.

But next time I'm buying new.

Because I refuse not to spend £40 on bedding just to enter into hand to hand combat with a giant fabric ar****le every single week.

The Thread Shed is threading, the machines are machine-ing and the invoice mountain is finally getting smaller 🙌

Full sized Adam is coming home tonight for a visit ahead of little Demi's 2nd birthday on Thursday 🥳💕 so in between orders, admin and trying to remember what day it is, I'm now also in full party planner mode.

I've got decorations to sort, presents to wrap, orders to complete and messages to answer.

Sleep? What even is that? 🤔

Although let's be honest, with the 15 cups of tea I drink every day, sleep probably gave up on me years ago anyway ☕😅

So if anyone needs me, I'll be in the Thread Shed powered by Yorkshire Tea, determination and whatever sanity I have left.

Just me, my laptop, a blanket, approximately 37 tabs open, 14 invoices, 26 messages to reply to and a to do list that's now legally classed as a novel... 😅🧵

What they don't see is the hours spent quoting, designing, ordering stock, answering messages, chasing suppliers, updating customers, processing invoices and trying to remember what day it is 🙃

Today was supposed to be a "quick admin catch up."

Three hours later I've achieved absolutely nothing except opening more tabs and convincing myself I'll definitely be organised tomorrow. 🤥
