"Volunteers' Week — 1 to 7 June 2026

At Alma Beacon, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Volunteers' Week gives us the opportunity to pause and recognise the people who show up week in, week out supporting the day to day running of the project, serving guests, preparing and cooking food, providing admin support, cutting hair, and so much more.

Windsor Homeless Project is part of the Alma Beacon charity supporting vulnerable people in the local community.

Last night we gathered to celebrate the outstanding work of our volunteers across this year's Cold Weather Night Shelter, which ran from December through to March.

With it being Volunteers' Week, the timing felt right to give a well-deserved mention to Rachel and Eleanor, who between them covered over 60 evening shifts — a remarkable commitment by any measure.

Thank you also to Brenda and Lesa from WHP for organising the food and for their tireless work in re-housing guests and changing lives; to our Committee, who give their time freely to organise everything behind the scenes and make the Night Shelter possible year after year.
None of this happens without you. Thank you ✌

Happy Friday to you All - A big thank you to the team at International Hotels Group (IHG) who gave the Alma Beacon a deep clean yesterday. The Green Oak pub in Fifield provided us with another outstanding lunch and the Swan at Clewer dropped off some beautiful homemade cakes for desert - we are so grateful to you all. Finally a big shout out to Big Yellow Self Storage for providing us with storage facilities: very generous and we really appreciate it - Thank you.
