The first of our Summer Wednesday Workshops and Storytime starts soon!
Book up for a free session (45-50 minutes) on Wed 22 July at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm or 3pm to create a clever botanical diorama, or perhaps a dramatic encounter with a polar bear.

Why not visit our exhibition "Imagined Geographies & First Encounters" whilst you are here and see an example of a Panorama toy made in 1822, over 200 years old. On loan from Leeds Museums and Galleries this incredible toy was based on a drawing by john Webber from Captain Cook's third voyage.

Workshops every Wednesday afternoon until the end of August.

Our monthly talk in July will be "George Vancouver: from Cook's Protégé to Master Surveyor" by Clair Stones. Find out more about the man who, as a teenager learnt from Captain Cook then went on to produce one of history’s most detailed surveys of the Pacific Northwest from California to Alaska.

From humble farm labourer's son to the 'first navigator in Europe' A journey beginning in the attic of this very house. Three voyages that mapped the Pacific, cured scurvy and forever altered the lives of Indigenous peoples.
