πΏ A Quick Note on Hedge Cutting/pruning During Bird Nesting Season π¦
As a passionate horticulturalist and wildlife enthusiast, I take my responsibility to nature seriously.
Many birds nest in hedges and shrubs between spring and summer, which means I may refuse or postpone hedge-cutting work if there is a risk of disturbing active nests. In the UK, it is an offence to intentionally damage or destroy a wild bird's nest while it is in use, and doing so could result in prosecution, fines, and serious damage to my business's reputation.
I know it can sometimes be frustrating if a hedge needs a trim, but protecting our wildlife is far more important. Before carrying out any work, I always assess hedges carefully to ensure any resident birds can raise their young safely.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping to protect the wildlife that makes our gardens so special. πΏπ¦
