Next week, WX Wakefield will host the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt exhibition, as Wakefield becomes the first city outside London to welcome this powerful and important installation—and we’re proud to be part of it.
From 4–7 June, all 42 quilt blocks will be on display at WX Wakefield, alongside selected individual panels exhibited at locations across the city.
The UK AIDS Memorial Quilt represents more than 500 people lost to HIV and AIDS and is part of the world’s largest community art project, originally founded in the USA in 1985 by activist Cleve Jones. Created as both a memorial and a form of protest, the Quilt continues to raise awareness of HIV and its ongoing impact on individuals and communities today.

Some of the Turning Point Inspiring Recovery team will be at WX during lunchtime on 4th and 5th June, available to answer any questions about our service.

We’re really looking forward to visiting the exhibition and meeting lots of new people.
