Cornwall SCITT
🌟 Welcome to the Cornwall SCITT Cohort 2026-2027
On Tuesday, we welcomed our new Cornwall SCITT cohort for 2026–2027, and the energy, excitement, and passion in the room set the tone for an incredible journey ahead.
From first introductions to programme insights, today was all about connection, meeting fellow trainees, getting to know the SCITT team, and taking those first confident steps into teacher training. The commitment and enthusiasm shown already remind us why this work matters so much.
This cohort brings a fantastic mix of experiences, strengths, and aspirations, and we can’t wait to see each of you grow, collaborate, and thrive over the coming year. You’re joining a supportive community of mentors, tutors, and partnership schools who are ready to champion you every step of the way.
Here’s to a year of learning, discovery, and making a real difference. Welcome to Cornwall SCITT — your teaching journey starts now. 📚✨

🌟A huge thank you to our incredible school‑based mentors.
Your guidance, encouragement, and day‑to‑day support shape every trainee’s journey. You open your classrooms, share your expertise, and model the craft of teaching with generosity and passion.
You model what great teaching looks like, not just in the moments that are planned, but in the countless small interactions that show trainees what it truly means to nurture, challenge, and inspire young people.
You give your time generously. You offer honest feedback, thoughtful guidance, and the kind of encouragement that builds confidence from the ground up. You help trainees navigate the highs and lows of the year, celebrate their breakthroughs, and support them through the tough days.
Because of you, our trainees grow into reflective, resilient, and skilled teachers, learning how to connect with pupils, shape learning, and contribute meaningfully to school communities.
We are deeply grateful for your expertise, your patience, and your unwavering commitment to developing new teachers for Cornwall. You make our partnership stronger, our programme richer, and our trainees braver. 🌟

✨ Ever wondered what Primary teacher training actually looks like?
It's not just lectures and assignments.
📚 It's teaching your own lessons.
💡 It's celebrating the moments when pupils "get it".
🤝 It's having honest conversations with your mentor about what went well and what to try next.
Here’s Holly, one of our Primary trainees, doing exactly that as part of her Cornwall SCITT training year 🙌
🌟 If you're ready for a rewarding challenge and want to make a real difference, Primary teaching could be the career for you.
