Jasmine left the Buffalo River Yacht Club, East London, this morning and is now on her way to Mossel Bay, a journey of about 330 miles so all being well she’ll arrive on Tuesday. She’s currently speeding along at 7.9knots! The 3 day stop at East London was a good chance for food and rest. The yacht club were amazing hosts! There was quite a swell leaving the harbour but Jasmine managed to push through it thanks to Skooks Josh Kali Ocean Racing, Adam Waugh and Rob having spent a day ashore performing open heart surgery on her electric outboard. The faulty comms part has been by-passed and hardwired in, it’s a temporary fix but it’s working🤞. There are none of the spare parts needed available in South Africa or the UK. Epropulsion are checking the factory in China so hopefully there will be a solution by the time Jasmine arrives in Cape Town. The Mini Globe Race has now added another pitstop before Cape Town, after Mossel Bay, for the fleet.
