The team have been going through the summer work experience CV's this morning (Rowan hiding behind David).

We are overwhelmed be the amount of responses we have received and thank everyone for taking the time to email across the CV's. Sadly, there is only one position and we wish we could create more.

The first phase of the process has now concluded and we have shortlisted 5 candidates for an interview and David will be contacting them shortly.

Paid summer holiday work experience placement at Devon Accounting Solutions

Having spoken to a few people recently within the local area, we have discovered how difficult it is for young people to get an opportunity to work and gain valid work experience. We have therefore decided to create a part time summer holiday’s position in our Teignmouth offices.

We are looking for a young person preferably between the ages of 16 – 20 years old whom may be studying either at school, college or university and are looking for paid work experience. It will be 2 days per week (Wednesday & Thursday) and will consist of:

• General administration support and helping our team as and when needed
• Basic bookkeeping work using Xero & Quickbooks (You will have an introduction in to both)
• Summarising income & expenditure receipts on to excel spreadsheets
• Scanning receipts for preparation of bookkeeping
• Making teas and coffees for client meetings
• Any other reasonable duties that may be required

o What interests you to working within an office environment?
o What achievements have you had to date, be it education/sports/other?

o What career ambitions do you have?
o Personal statement about why we should consider you?

The deadline for sending the above to us is 31 March 2026 and we will review all responses early April 2026 and if you are successful in the 1st phase, we will invite you to an informal meeting.
