☀️ Escape the sun for a few hours of art this week, where we’ll be sculpting using wire, clay and paint - shaping a frame, adding form and bringing it to life. No experience necessary!

🤯 Did you know.. The oldest sculpture we’ve ever found of a human and an animal together is a tiny clay figure made 12,000 years ago. Scientists studying it in 2025 worked out the artist was most likely female by analysing the ridges on a fingerprint pressed into the clay 👐

Fun fact: Crayola’s top crayon maker spent 35 years pouring out around 1.4 billion crayons in every shade going — and he was colourblind the whole time. He couldn’t reliably tell blue from green, so he’d just ask the person next to him when he wasn’t sure. Still reckoned he made the best crayons in the world. 🖍️

Come and get creative - all materials provided, no experience needed.

Fun Fact: From 1912 to 1948, the Olympics gave out gold, silver and bronze medals for art. Painting, sculpture, architecture, music and literature all had their own competitions. The founder of the modern Olympics believed you shouldn’t be able to call yourself a true Olympian unless you could also make something. The event was scrapped because too many of the entrants were professionals - the same rule that used to ban paid athletes from competing. 🥇🖌️
