Cake Recreation

More of my Christmas cakes this year. One left to finish over the weekend.

My latest cake can now be shared, the recipient and guests have now eaten it!

I did recommend that the car wasn’t eaten as it is made using modelling paste, which hardens, not not only that, it is generally rolled out on Trex to provide a very thin layer of modelling paste i.e., flower petals, clothes for the lady in the garden cake etc. It’s great to use but needs to be quick, otherwise it cracks.

Had a lot of fun doing the car and the signage etc!

Sponge cake base. Due to the weight of the car, I had to put four dowels in to hold the weight of the car, and stuck it to the cake with edible glue and a liquorice alsort piece, so it didn’t drive away! Made the wheels using the round coconut alsorts and compressed them to the right size, then covered them in said layer of black modelling paste for the tyres.

Needless to say I ate what was left of the alsorts….. My reward! x
