Hello friends,

We would like to say thank you to the 15-20k people who viewed the photography exhibitions in 2021, and for all your incredible feedback.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to establish our 2nd photo festival. However, despite our best efforts we have been unable to resolve some logistical challenges with providing the exhibition across the three parks in Swindon for 2022.
We look forward to continuing to work with South Swindon Parish Council to realise these issues, and hope to come back in 2023.

We would like to express our gratitude to all of our sponsors & partners who have been so generous with their support Photography Daily South Swindon Parish Council Tom Faulkner Earthworm Recording Studio CMS SupaTrak PermaJet New College Swindon Bread & Butter Studio Captured Sattya Media Arts Collective

Admiration and thanks goes out to the exhibiting International photographers Jason Florio Martin Parr Foundation Sanne De Wilde. It was an honour to display such thought provoking images in our parks, which not only looked spectacular but which also provided for much dialogue and engagement within our community and amongst our visitors.

Thank you to all Uni graduates for putting on a great show, Photojournalism & Documentary Photography at UoG University of Gloucestershire Beth Prodger Photography .photos lecturer together with

It was great to include so many of New College Swindon photography students, who worked hard during their course year to produce some fine work for the exhibition. Thank you to all staff, Louise Spence, Paul Henderson, Claire Ashley Rupert Holdship

Special mentions to Carl Johanson for always having solutions for anything technical and for helping out so much, and to Jon Buckett who has supported me in the management of this project, and stood by me all the way.
Thanks to each and every one who has supported us throughout this journey, and in helping to present this ground breaking exhibition in Swindon UK.

Jennifer and the Photo Swindon team.

A warm welcome to the last of the college student entry for the category “VIEWFINDER’ at Photo Swindon.
A/AS level in photography Pandora Kidd.

"This photos was taken on a walk that I do regularly each evening, to exercise the dogs and this evening happened to be a beautiful sunset, when two other walkers happened to walk across the horizon at the perfect moment. I feel lucky to live in such an open, spacious environment particularly whilst we were in lockdown" -

Photo Swindon / ‘Viewfinder' provides graduates and students with an opportunity to showcase their work. We hope the platform provides an important step in their pursuit of photographic skills, in identifying and communicating their unique photographic voice, and offers tangible experience of exhibiting photographic work.
Unlike our International exhibitions this year, which focussed on some of the most impactful photojournalism and documentary photographic stories of recent years, the students and graduates work towards briefs from their course leaders spanning many genres of photographic work. We would like to wish them well with the hope that they feel inspired to achieve purposeful work, and to continue pursuing their dreams

Today we would like to welcome Brendan Checchia who is studying A/AS Level Photography at

"This photo was a self-portrait taken during lock down, I was continuing to try to learn to drive, we were all trying to continue with our normal lives as far as possible, within the limitations of Covid regulations” - © Brendan Checchia.

Introducing New College Swindon BTEC student Nikita Ihrig with her photo story, ‘Young Family’-

"Being part of a young family is always a challenge. First with having young children to entertain, to feed and clothe is tough enough, then add on a pandemic, job losses and lack of family support you create a tinder box. My work explores how the different family units have coped since lockdown and the relationship within have blossomed or deteriorated’ - Nikita Ihrig

Nikita work is now showing as part of a collection of images for ‘Viewfinder’ produced by New College Swindon photography students.

Katy Burns .burns_photography BTEC Swindon

Warm welcome to Katy with her photo story ‘Distant Families’ -

"Over the last two years my family and I have been separated between countries due to lockdowns across the UK and France. In October I was trapped in France with my Mother and younger siblings, only to return in December alone and be separated from them with my grandfather and step-father. Although this has been a struggle, my work examines how we have communicated and tried to maintain family connections through trying circumstances” - Image © Katy Burns
