We don't usually do unboxing videos... but we couldn't resist this one.

Over 10,000 pieces in this box, and the kids couldn't wait to get their hands on them!

A brilliant first day at our Summer Big Build Camp as the team got started on the incredible Eclipse Star Destroyer.

But the real challenge isn't building the model.

It's learning to work as one team: planning ahead, synchronising with other builders, following complex instructions, solving problems together and discovering new building techniques along the way.

That's what Beyond Blocks is all about.

I love seeing how our models evolve as our students move through the levels at Beyond Blocks

At beginner level the children learn to steer this plane from left to right. We introduce the idea of the roll axis.

At the next level up today, they revisited the plane but this time with a new hub and a new challenge, which was to lift the nose of the plane up and down and by doing this we teach them about pitch.

At the next level up, we introduce the gyro and teach them about Yaw by using the gyro to navigate around a map thus completing the three axes of rotation by building robots out of LEGO.

While it may look like they're just having fun, our classes achieve way more than meets the eye.
