M42 closure over the festive season

🔔 M42 J9 to J10 road closures – plan ahead 🔔

Over the Christmas period, the HS2 team will complete essential work in preparation for the Marston Box bridge to be moved into position next year. To carry out this work safely, they need to close the M42 between junctions 9 and 10 (northbound and southbound) for a week.

🚧 The road closures will start at 9pm on Friday 24 December (Christmas Eve) and end at 9pm on Friday 31 December 2021 (New Year’s Eve).

Diversion routes will be in place and clearly signed. These are shown below.

You’ll still be able to get to where you need to go, but we recommend you plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.
