Out with the harsh cement, in with the traditional lime! 🧱✨

We recently wrapped up this wall rebuild and repoint. Every bit of old cement mortar was carefully removed, blown bricks and stones were replaced, and the whole thing was repointed using a natural hydraulic lime mortar.

Why lime? It’s tough enough to handle the excessive weathering from the roadside splash-zone, but soft enough to let the original brick and stone breathe without cracking.

Another small repoint underway.

Garden wall has been victim to a severe bodging with sand and cement mortar. All joints to be raked out, blown bricks replaced or repaired and then repointed in lime mortar.
