It’s the sixth day of autumn and therefore the sixth day of Grit Trad Week🍁
Today’s picture is of my road dog Gaz Billings climbing The Easy Turnpike on the Alport Stone at dusk back in June this year.
The Alport Stone is one of the most southerly grit climbing venues and is literally just this one pinnacle at an impressive viewpoint that’s also home to all sorts of less wholesome activities of an evening. This route’s one of few I can think of that has “easy” as part of the route name but while that’s pretty accurate it doesn’t have gear and you have to reverse it to get down so it does have a little spice to it!
