Celebrate Pride Month ....
Gay Pride began as protest, with a spontaneous uprising in New York City on June 28, 1969.
Fed up with routine police brutality and systemic harassment at gay venues, patrons of the Stonewall Inn and local LGBTQ+ activists fought back, sparking days of protests.
This marked the birth of the modern gay rights movement.The first organised Pride marches took place precisely one year later, on June 28, 1970, to commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
