The Larks

It was a joy to be back quartet singing on Thurs eve with my lovely Penelope Baddeley and Kay. And our amazing MD Rosalind Kipps stepped in at the last minute as we were a woman down. Huge thanks to Charlotte Armitage for creating the warm and wonderful open mic night. We had a right Lark!

JOIN THE LARKS AND LET YOUR VOICE TAKE FLIGHT!

The search is on to find a new bass singer for The Larks quartet.
We are looking for a person, female or male, who can sing well in the female bass range and who would be happy to compete with us this coming Autumn.
This exciting opportunity to join our line-up has arisen due to plans by our lovely hitherto bass singer Olly to go off on an extended break exploring the world!
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and talented, musically literate singer with an engaging personality. Former experience as a quartet singer would be great!
The Larks’ line-up is Ange Davies, lead; Penny Baddeley, baritone and Kay White, tenor. The three of us have been singing together in quartets since 2016. We’ve competed at international : SABS (Calpe) in April 2019, IABS (Cork) in October 2017 and October 2022 achieving a B level score.
We’re a fun-loving, friendly, easy-going but hard working and dedicated team, with a lot of experience behind us and a tendency to end rehearsals in hysterics, with a glass of wine in our hands!
We have enjoyed a wide variety of paid and charity gigs and sung at various types of events ranging from outdoor summer fetes to concert performances for many different organisations. We’ve sung everywhere from hospitals, pubs, churches, a manor house - and even Sheffield Cathedral.
Our next big focus will be to compete at IABS, which is being held in October 2025 in Killarney.
If you think you’d be a great fit, please drop us a message by Friday, April 25th and we can arrange an informal chat and an audition date.
