The Plain English Campaign's Golden Bull Awards are always a good read. Check out the worst communicators of 2020 πŸ‘‡

Most of these examples are of people trying to use flouncy language to sound more intelligent. There's no point in communicating if your audience isn't going to understand it.

Throwback to when my wife rescued two 1950s style guides from the bin at her work. She knows me well.

Looking through them, it's a reminder that words and the way we communicate constantly changes.

Some of the words and phrases created in the 1950s: rock 'n' roll (1955), far-out (1954), 3-D (1955), fast food (1951).

Happy freelancing anniversary to me!

It's SEVEN years to the day since I went solo.

That's:
πŸ’· 332 invoices
πŸ§‘β€ 43 different clients
πŸ’‘ 57 different brands worked on

Celebrating with a bit of a later than usual start before cracking on with the work I love. Here's to another seven years...
