It was a scorcher today ☀️, but we're looking forward to another great day tomorrow (Sunday 12th July) at the Cheshire Steam Fair!

If you're visiting the fair, make sure you come and say hello at the Runcorn Sea Cadets stand. We'd love to meet you!

🚤 Trinity 500 TLC Time 🚤

Nothing says “Sea Cadets pride” like giving our boats a proper scrub!

Tonight's job was to give one of our Trinity 500s a well‑earned clean. These boats take our cadets through countless sessions, so keeping them shipshape is all part of the job.

Huge thanks to CI Lowrie for keeping our fleet looking smart and ready for the next adventure on the water.

At Runcorn Sea Cadets, water safety is something we take very seriously.

This week marks Drowning Prevention Week (13th–20th June), led by RLSS UK - a national campaign focused on giving young people the skills and knowledge they need to stay safe around water, especially as we head into the summer months.

Our cadets regularly build confidence in and around the water, learning how to stay safe, what to do in an emergency, and how to look out for others. These are life skills that really matter.

It’s an important reminder for everyone:

🌊 Drowning is preventable
🌊 Always respect the water
🌊 Know your limits
🌊 Look out for others

Nobody should drown. By raising awareness and sharing these messages, we can all help keep our community safe this summer.

Throughout Volunteers' Week, we've celebrated the people who give their time to support Runcorn Sea Cadets.

But the true impact of volunteering can be seen in the experiences our cadets enjoy, the skills they develop, the friendships they build and the confidence they gain.

Every activity, every achievement and every opportunity is made possible by volunteers who choose to give their time for others.
