This little VW up has previously had a gearbox repair prior to the current owner purchasing the vehicle.
Presented to us with a gear box oil leak we investigated and found the automatic shift controller had been replaced.
The control unit had not been sealed into the gearbox casing, 1 bolt was missing 1 bolt was cross threaded and 1 bolt was so over tightened it had stretched. Less the 50% of the required oil remained.
Control Unit removed, cleaned and resealed along with new bolts, oil replenished and finally gear box adaptations reset.
An extended road test confirmed no more leaks and the car drove great.
