This is fantastic news for Rotherham and the future of our cultural and creative network!

Thrilled that Rotherham has been shortlisted for the UK Town of Culture Competition from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Selected from over 400 applications, Rotherham has always been a hub for creativity, history and the arts, and I am so pleased to see this has been recognised by the Government. We will soon receive £60,000 to further develop our bid, and the winner will receive £3 million to host a major cultural programme in 2028.

Don’t miss the final days of our current Garage Gallery exhibition featuring the work of ROAR artist Chris Slater.

Chris is a Sheffield/Rotherham-based oil painter whose work explores landscape, still life and portraiture through careful observation of light, atmosphere and the passing moment.

This exhibition brings together paintings created through a lifelong commitment to painting from life - capturing moments with sensitivity, patience and skill.
