"Empowerment, Creativity and Inclusion" by Ryan Raghoo from
Ryan presented this talk to Paediatric Physiotherapists across the country a few weeks ago, and it was brilliant. I came away with so much to think about, and even more determined to continue with this project. BUT, at a slower pace.
Whilst I am enthusiastic and want to post as much as possible quickly, I don't want to do that at the expense of doing research in detail. Inclusion shouldn't just be a buzz word that we slap onto activities and places to feel good about ourselves, especially if they are not actually accessible and inclusive.
I also want to be mindful that as an able bodied person, I should continue to seek out the views of people who have different abilities and their experiences using these clubs/doing these activities.
Lots more thoughts going through my head still. And just throwing the honesty out there - whilst I do this for my job and have gained a certain amount of experience over the years, I am always learning and the journey never ends.
