A major milestone achieved in Colchester 🚗

We're proud to have successfully completed and opened Phase 1 of the A1331 Link Road for Essex County Council

Delivered on programme and within budget, the £27 million scheme will improve traffic flow, increase network resilience and support future residential and commercial growth across the region.

🏠 The new road will unlock the development of the Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community which comprises up to 9,000 new homes and supporting amenities.

Beyond the infrastructure, the project has delivered lasting benefits for local communities, including employment opportunities, apprenticeships, work experience placements and more than £6.5 million in social value across Essex.

Gavin Pritchard, Managing Director Highways said "At Octavius, our purpose is to create, improve and protect the places where people live, work and travel. The A1331 Link Road is an excellent example of how investment in infrastructure can unlock opportunities and improve journeys for thousands of people every day.”
