A very big thank you to the crew at Bruce Boats - Accessible Canal Holidays for giving members of our 4ME Day Activities Service such a warm welcome on board Hannah. From steering the boat to working the locks, everyone got stuck in and enjoyed the sunshine and beautiful views. It’s inclusive and accessible days out like this that mean the world to our members, helping build confidence while making wonderful memories. We’re already looking forward to our next voyage! 🚤☀️

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Janet Duggan and Tarnia Alexander to Reading Mencap to celebrate our renewed partnership with gas distribution network SGN

This two-year partnership brings Reading Mencap together with Croydon Mencap, East Kent Mencap and Worthing Mencap & Buddys to support people with a learning disability and their families to stay safe, warm, and financially resilient at home.

Our project will provide personalised support to vulnerable households across Greater Reading who are most at risk from the health and financial impacts of living in a cold home. The support will continue to be delivered by our Family Advisers and helps individuals take practical steps to improve home safety, manage energy use, and build financial resilience.
