Life can be challenging at times and may feel overwhelming. I understand that it takes courage to make that first step and contact a counsellor for help. I offer a warm, non-judgemental, supportive and respectful space where you can feel heard and accepted, no matter what is going on for you and brings you.
Research evidence suggests that it is primarily the relationship formed between therapist and client that has the most positive influence on whether having therapy is successful. I place a strong emphasis on building a trusting therapeutic relationship with you in order to have a firm foundation for the work we do together. My role is to help you explore and make sense of the challenges you face. This may involve working with difficult emotions and identifying and addressing unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns which may now be adding to feelings of unhappiness.
I work with individuals and couples in-person, online and by phone. I offer short-term and open-ended counselling to support my clients to gain understanding to facilitate the changes they want in their lives. I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I am guided by their ethical framework and procedures.

When life feels overwhelming being able to talk with someone without fear of judgement helps you to make sense of your feelings, gain new perspectives and move forward in your life. I work with adults, young people, students and couples to address a range of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, abuse, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem, perfectionism, relationship struggles and stressful work situations.
Developing a trusting relationship with your counsellor in which you feel comfortable to talk openly about whatever is troubling you is fundamental to the success of the counselling process. I am a genuinely compassionate, warm counsellor who will listen to whatever you choose to explore without judgement so that you feel heard, understood and accepted. My aim is to help you understand and make sense of your experience of the world. Together we can explore your unique experience, how your current experience has been shaped by your environment and your past. I will support you in this journey of self-discovery using my knowledge of various humanistic counselling theories, adapting my approach to meet your individual needs.
If you feel you would like to speak to someone who will listen and understand, I still have some counselling appointments available face-to-face, online and by phone for the next week. At your free 30m initial appointment we can start to explore your challenges, your hopes for counselling and how we might work together.
