Our Loch Ness Road Trip is a stunning journey filled with breathtaking scenery and fascinating stops. Here's a quick guide to help you plan:
A & B). Inverness to Drumnadrochit: Start in Inverness and follow the A82 south. You'll soon see Loch Ness come into view. Stop at the Wellington lay-by for your first glimpse of the loch. In Drumnadrochit, visit the Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition or Nessieland, and enjoy some local Scottish dishes at Fiddler’s Restaurant.
C). Urquhart Castle: Just beyond Drumnadrochit, you'll find the ruins of Urquhart Castle, a must-see for history enthusiasts and photographers.
D). Fort Augustus: Continue along the A82 to Fort Augustus, a charming village at the southern tip of Loch Ness. Explore the Caledonian Canal, watch boats navigate the locks, or take a boat trip on the loch.
E). Falls of Foyers: On your way back along the south side of Loch Ness via the B862, stop at the Falls of Foyers, a spectacular waterfall surrounded by beautiful scenery.
F). Dores Beach: End your trip at Dores Beach, a peaceful spot with stunning views of Loch Ness. It's a great place to relax and reflect on your adventure.
