After a short hiatus over the last three weeks we are looking forward to fishing again next week. It’s another high water with heavy rainfall and snowmelt but the tributaries are already dropping so we ought to have some good conditions for the next while.

We still have some availability for the remainder of March which can be booked by calling Pamela in our office on 01250 883424 or [email protected]

Scottish salmon and sea trout fisheries: provisional statistics 2025

Read this provisional summary of catches from last season and "think about it" - what can you (you, personally) do as an individual?

"Compared to 2024... (2025 season saw) a decrease of 19,620 wild-origin salmon (40%)"

It is more important than ever to minimise the handling of fish and to swiftly release these endangered creatures; minimise harm to the animal, forget 'the photograph' and just release the fish to get upstream and sustain its race, support local livelihoods and be there for generations to come (human and piscine).

Worrying data, here... .

Provisional statistics from the Scottish salmon and sea trout fisheries.

Total wild salmon and sea trout catch.

Most recent figures show that in 2025, Scottish fisheries caught:

28,933 wild-origin salmon
14,282 adult sea trout
6,925 finnock

Compared to 2024, this represents a decrease of 19,620 wild-origin salmon (40%), 400 (3%) adult sea trout and 497 (7%) finnock.
