🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥁 AN INCREDIBLE DAY AT THE ATHOLL HIGHLAND GATHERING IN BLAIR ATHOLL! 🥁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Perthshire Local went along to the historic grounds of Blair Castle today for the iconic Atholl Highland Gathering, and what an absolutely phenomenal day out it was! The sun was trying its best, the crowds were out in full force, and the atmosphere was buzzing from start to finish. 🏰🌟

THE MARCH OF THE HIGHLANDERS
There is nothing quite like the spine-tingling sound of the pipes echoic across the glen. Watching Europe's only remaining private army, the Atholl Highlanders, march out in full ceremonial dress with flawless precision was a true spectacle of Scottish heritage. 🎵💂‍♂️

The field was packed with brilliant independent stalls showcasing the very best of Scottish craftsmanship and treats. We loved stopping by the Val's Scottish Tablet stand for a proper taste of traditional confectionery, and visiting the team at Corgi Queen & Co with their fantastic selection of premium pet accessories and treats. 🍬🐶

From the heavy disciplines to the track, the energy was electric. One of the highlights of the afternoon was definitely watching the high-speed drama of the sprint races, with competitors giving it absolutely everything as they charged down the grass lane! 🏃‍♀️💨

A massive thank you to all the organisers, performers, and local vendors who put so much hard work into making this weekend such a spectacular celebration of our local culture.
