What a day for running πββοΈ π
Watching the London Marathon this morning never fails to amaze π€©
The sheer amount of runners, the resilience, the athleticism, the reasons for which they run, the drive and determination just incredible.
The Great Scottish run also today, lovely route and some great memories of running it.
Huge well done to all those who ran in these events today and who inspire others to take part in future π

π€ Body Positivity π€
So I did a thing today and ran in shorts, and also went to the shops after my run, very sweaty, red faced and in said shorts.
To some that may not be a big deal, but to me it was.
I, like others am very self conscious when it comes to my body, I have really struggled to give it the love and respect it deserves over the years, more so after having two children. Instead I have just picked out every flaw, every mark, every scar and chipped away at any confidence that was there.
I would say having tried to articulate my lack of body confidence over the years, it has been met with responses like βwell your slim what do you have to worry aboutβ as if this makes my feeling less valid.
If we are all truly looking to empower each other and promote body positivity this should include everyone. All shapes all sizes, everyone, period.
So today I felt good, not to start with but I wore the shorts, and as I ran (with a photo pit stop included) I wanted to celebrate today, as I looked at my body with more respect for what it can do, more kindness and love. At least for today β€οΈ
