Teddy has had a while off training so today we just wanted to see where she was at, and work a little bit on some frustration around other dogs.

Unfortunately, entitled members of the public couldn’t control their own dogs and created unnecessary stress. But you wouldnt know from these clips because both Teddy and her owner recovered amazingly! Their relationship shines through ✨

As your trainer, I will ALWAYS advocate for you and your dogs - even if that means I get yelled at and called names.

Not only is it against the law to have an out of control dog, but it’s especially important that they don’t interfere with an assistance dog. Yes we were on an open patch of grass, but it was very clear we were training. I asked the woman to recall her dog (she couldn’t), asked her to come and get her dog (she refused), tried to use my body to prevent the dog from jumping all over Teddy (got accused of kicking her dog), AND we tried to leave (we were followed). If Teddy were working, and the dog barrelled into her and caused an injury, that’s someone’s lifeline! Completely unacceptable.

I don’t care for excuses (she constantly told us he was only 7 months old) - if you cannot recall your dog after being asked to then the responsible thing to do is remove them. To completely refuse even when we were trying to get away and follow shouting at us was not an experience I wanted for my client.

I’m so proud of them both for the way they handled themselves 💕

He’ll be 8 in a few weeks.

Some people want to erase me from his life.

I may not ever see him again before he dies.

But he will forever be my heart dog. The one that sparked my passion.

He was so emotionally in tune with me. And sometimes that could be a negative. But on the days where I couldn’t face the world, there he was, nudging my hands to stop me from harming myself, licking my face when I cried, and giving the absolute best cuddles.

There’s more photos of him in my home than there are Indie 😅

Love you always Wilson 💕 Mr W***y Butt

NEW SERVICE INCOMING

Summer is coming. And we all know how busy it can get down here! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to bring your dog with you knowing that you have set them up for success?

INTRODUCING
THE REAL WORLD PUPPY PROGRAMME

Most puppy classes are held in sterile environments, which makes it incredibly difficult to transfer those skills into real life. Dogs learn in pictures and if we don’t show them what we expect in all environments, the training falls apart as soon as they see a distraction.

This course is different.

Starting with an individual session, teaching you the foundation skills so that everyone starts on the same level. I will also be able to address any individual concerns around at-home behaviour and assess what breed-specific outlets may be appropriate for your pup.

The next 6 weeks will be in the form of small group classes in real-world environments. Our focus is on engagement with you and building confidence and resilience to outside distractions.

Owners will learn how to read and understand their individual dog. We will increase the difficulty of distractions in the environment and you will be encouraged to share your wins throughout the week in our community group chat.

7 weeks of training. Only £175.
There will only be 4 spaces available so reserve your space now!

Individual sessions start the week beginning June 1st.
Group sessions will be held on the Sunday of each week, starting Sunday 14th June. Time TBC. Locations will be shared within the group chat and will change each week depending on what we are working on.

Get in touch to reserve your space or head to my website firstclasscanines.co.uk and complete the contact form
